When humans wait to age

Mind the field of ice bobbed
with frozen buoys of elephant heads
half-in, half-out,

which reach to arid night sky;
the try to warm at the touch of a star
tamed and at watch
of God's hovered palm--

plate between the try
and the current reality.
Let me show you this cranberry lake
of meat and time

when humans
wait to age.
